Making Up for Lost Time: Online Dating During the Pandemic

Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, the entire world has had to adjust to a new reality. Social distancing, lockdowns and other restrictions were put in place in an effort to contain the spread of the virus, but also account for some – yet not all –  of the biggest changes in daily life we’ve all experienced since last year. However, for those who stayed at home as much as possible and avoided social gatherings, things have gotten quite lonely due to the isolation. For a long time, the safest option for connecting with people was through online dating during the pandemic.

While the COVID-19 pandemic is still a very real problem, it seems that people’s lives are already starting to change again.As lockdowns all over the world ease and vaccines become more widely available to the global population, more people are feeling more comfortable with going back to dating. 

New survey shows surge in online dating during the pandemic

According to a new Veggly survey, 40% of users admit that they are going on more dates and investing more time in online dating than they did before the pandemic. Another 43% of these people say they are already back to their dating lives pre-Covid. In comparison, 45% of users haven’t been dating at all, not even online dating during the pandemic. This shows that a significant portion of vegans and vegetarians feel a strong desire to make up for lost time. In fact, 29% of people said that going on a date is #1 in their To Do lists after restrictions ease in their area.

It’s very understandable that people are eager to go back to dating and other social activities. After all, going through this pandemic hasn’t been easy at all, so many are seeing the decrease in restrictions as a green light to go and enjoy life. What felt like being stuck to online dating during the pandemic is soon turning into an interesting option to go back to normal. Activity has increased in Veggly in the past couple of months, which further confirms the shift in attitude. With that, it becomes clear that, like a groundhog crawling out from its burrow, vegan daters are ready to go out in the sun and get back in the game. If you’re one of those vegans, don’t forget to stay safe and continue respecting public health guidelines as well as other restrictions that might still be in place in your area!

The Best Places for Vegan Dating in the USA

Every vegan and vegetarian is well aware of the fact that maintaining a plant based diet can be way easier – or harder – depending on location. This is also true when to comes to finding new relationships with other vegans. New data released by Veggly reveals some of the best places for vegan dating.

So, what are the best places for vegan dating?

New York has the highest number of Veggly users, making it the top state for vegan dating in the USA. We can’t really say this comes as a shock! It was hard enough not falling in love with New York, considering all the excitement that comes with a multicultural big city environment and the never ending restaurant options. Now it’s gotten even more irresistible.

Virginia features the second highest number of users in relation to population (377 per million). This might be surprising, given that the southern state is one of the best places for vegan dating in the USA, placed higher than California. The west coast state is considered by many to be a true vegan wonderland, but came in third. However, if we take only the total of users per state, California definitely takes the trophy. It has more Veggly users than any other state. We believe that solidifies California’s status as the ultimate vegan utopia in the USA and one of the best states for vegan dating altogether!

Overall, we’ve found that the east coast of the United States accounts for many vegans looking for love and new relationships,. States like New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida made it into the top 10 best states for vegan dating.

These prominent hotspots aren’t the only great locations for vegan dating, though. We’ve also found that Texas almost made into the top 10, placing at 11th, which can be quite surprising to many people, and we agree. But if veganism can grow in Texas, it can grow just about anywhere!

If you don’t live in the United States of America, there is no need to feel left out. As Veggly becomes more popular across the globe, it seems like things are definitely improving when it comes to finding plant based love. United Kingdom Tops Rankings For Vegan Dating

The UK is the best country in the world for vegan dating for second year in a row. Netherlands places second, Germany third, Spain fourth

Veggly, the world’s leading dating app for vegans and vegetarians, today releases new data revealing the world’s best hotspot countries for vegan dating.

The United Kingdom takes the coveted number one spot for the second year in a row with the highest number of users in relation to population.

At present, the UK has well over 45,000 (45,633) users on Veggly, meaning there are nearly 700 (685) users per million people in the country. The Netherlands is close behind the UK with the second highest number of users in relation to population (601 users per million people).

Germany places third thanks to a strong user base of 46,375, which means there are nearly 560 Veggly users per million people in the country. Spain is fourth with a figure of 435 users per million.

Overall, the United States boasts the highest number of Veggly users, with 60,158, but has a much higher population than the UK (328million vs 67million), so scores lower on the ranking list. Brazil has the second most users overall with over 51,000.

In the past two years, Veggly has grown rapidly and reached over almost 400,000 global users (16x growth since July 2019).

Veggly Reaches 1 Million Veg-Matches

More exciting news for vegans looking for love today! We are very pleased to announce that as the world’s leading dating app for vegans and vegetarians, we now have over 300,000 users around the world.

Since July 2019, the Veggly has grown in user numbers by a factor of 12, from 25,000 users. At the same time, we are also celebrating over 1 million ‘Veg-Matches’ (where two users match with each other) and we predict over 2 million by mid 2021. Overall, the United States now has the highest number of Veggly users in one country, with 47,823. Brazil (46,620 users) is second, Germany (39,703 users) is third, and the UK (35,190 users) is fourth. Spain is fifth, with 14,136 users.

Vegan Sexual Performance: 67% report a boost after making the switch

In this article, we reveal our latest research showing how two-thirds of vegans report an increase in sexual performance and enjoyment since switching to a vegan diet.

Very exciting news for vegans today! Especially when it comes to life in the bedroom! We’ve released new data from a survey of 5,000 vegans across the world revealing how making the switch to a plant-based diet has impacted their sexual enjoyment and performance. The results are worth celebrating!

The research shows that over two thirds of vegans (67%) have experienced a noticeable increase in sexual performance and enjoyment after making the switch to a vegan diet.

In particular, vegan men were most likely to notice a difference. 7 in 10 (71%) vegan men reported a boost, in contrast to 59% of vegan women.

The new findings are consistent with arguments made in The Game Changers by Dr. Aaron Spitz who witnessed a significant boost in strength and duration of erections for male athletes who took part in a controlled test to measure the impact of a vegan diet.

We believe these findings are likely to contribute further to the continued rise of veganism and plant-based diets across the globe.

Veggly, the world’s leading dating app for vegans and vegetarians, today releases new data from a survey of 14,00 users across the world to reveal the top vegan dating trends for 2021.

The research shows that over half of vegans (52%) wouldn’t consider a relationship with a meat-eater. In addition, just over 12% of vegans, roughly 1 in 8, wouldn’t even consider dating a vegetarian, as they are still consumers of animal products.

Vegetarians are also reluctant when it comes to meat-eaters. 4 in 10 (39%) wouldn’t consider a carnivore for a partner.

The new findings help explain the recent, rapid growth of Veggly. Our platform now has over 250,000 users around the world. Since July 2019, the app has grown in user numbers by a factor of 10, from 25,000 users.

Rise in Veganism

The rise of veganism and plant-based diets across the globe in the past two years has fuelled Veggly’s rise to prominence.

Vegan population has grown significantly in almost every country. As an example, a recent study revealed that the number of Americans following a plant-based diets is up by nearly 10 million over the last 15 years – a 300% increase and nearly 3 percent of the population in the United States.

American Vegans Backing Biden over Trump

World’s number 1 dating app for vegans surveys American users to reveal: American Vegans are Backing Biden in the elections.

  • 75% of American vegans are backing Biden and Harris
  • Only 6.5% back Trump and Pence
  • Support for a third party candidate among American vegans outstrips Trump, with 18.5% of the share

A new survey conducted by Veggly, the world’s leading vegan and vegetarian dating app, has revealed how American vegans overwhelmingly support Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for president when compared to Donald Trump and Mike Pence. The data shows how 75% of vegans in the US support Biden and Harris, and only 6.5% are backing Trump and Pence.

The data also shows how many vegans in the US back a third party option instead Trump, with almost a fifth (18.5%) selecting the option.

Possible reasons for these results include:

  • Trump’s policies regarding climate change and animal welfare, which have angered vegan and environmental campaigners in the four years he has been in charge.
  • Trump’s regulations and laws regarding animal cruelty. In 2018, Trump lifted a ban put in place by the Obama administration covering animal cruelty. The original ban, set in 2015, provided better care for factory farmed animals, ensuring that they were treated more humanely.

Commenting on the new data, Founder of Veggly, Alex Felipelli, said:

“Most vegans are pro-environment and want better protection for animals, so it’s no surprise the Trump administration has very little support from this community. It’s also interesting to see how nearly a fifth would choose a third party; it just goes to show how many people aren’t impressed with either Biden or Trump at the moment.”

Best US states for vegan dating

Oregonians are trailblazers for vegan dating

More news from the Veggly data team today! We’ve very excited to reveal the best states in the USA for vegan dating. The ‘Beaver State’ (Oregon) has been crowned best state in the USA for vegan dating, followed by Massachusetts, Washington, and New York.

Did you know that with Veggly you can teleport to all of these states?

Oregon takes the number one spot, with the highest number of users in relation to population (26 users per million). Right now, Oregon has witnessed over 3,500 Veg-Matches’ on Veggly so far.

Massachusetts is number two on the list, with the second highest number of users in relation to population, with 21 Veggly users for every 1 million people in the state. Very close behind is the west coast state of Washington, in third place, with 20.9 per million.

Moving back east, New York state takes fourth place, with 20.4 per million. Next up is the beautiful state of Colorado, in fifth place (18). The ‘Golden State’ of California places sixth (17), but has by far the most overall users with close to 7,000.

New Jersey (16.4) is close behind, in seventh place. Virginia (15.3), Florida (14.3), and Illinois (10.3) place eighth, ninth and tenth respectively.

Overall, the United States boasts the highest number of Veggly users in one country, with 38,300.

New data reveals the world’s best cities for vegan dating.

Today, the Veggly team is very excited to release new data revealing the world’s best cities for vegan dating. Right now, London takes the number one spot, with the highest number of users in relation to population (81 users per million). London has over 12,000 users on Veggly, with and over 22,000 ‘Veg-Matches’ so far.

Did you know that with Veggly you can teleport to all of these cities?

Lisbon, Portugal, is number two on the list, with the second highest number of users in relation to population, with 49 Veggly users for every 1 million people in the city. Very close behind is Amsterdam, in third place, with 48 per million.

Moving across the Atlantic, San Francisco takes fourth place, with 31 per million, followed Toronto in fifth place (24), and Los Angeles in sixth (20). Continuing west, Sydney (19) slides into seventh place as the top city in Australia.

The German cities of Frankfurt (18.9) and Berlin (18) place eighth and ninth respectively, followed by the big apple, New York City, in tenth (16).

Despite not having a city in the top three, the United States boasts the highest overall number of Veggly users in one country, with 32,376.
